 Kids Abilities offers physical,
occupational and speech therapy services for infants through young adults. Our
therapists are licensed, experienced and all have additional training in
specialty areas. All therapists also attend continuing education classes to
remain current with new theories and treatment techniques. Your child
receives a comprehensive evaluation and an individualized treatment plan
from their therapist. Therapists at Kids Abilities also understand the
whole child and are able to thoughtfully coordinate care with other
disciplines, with schools and ofcourse, with your family.
Physical
therapists work with your child to improve his or her
gross motor skillsand mobility. They are able to assist you in obtaining
positioning and mobility equipment if necessary, including wheelchairs,
standers, walkers, and orthotics. Our physical therapists have specialized
training in neurodevelopmental treatment, therapeutic electrical
stimulation, seating evaluations and recommendations for adapted
bikes. We offer treadmill based
Partial Weight Bearing Gait Therapy.
Occupational therapists work with your
child to improve his or her fine motor skills, sensory integration and
activities of daily living. They are able to assist with obtaining adaptive
equipment and can perform home safety evaluations. Our occupational
therapists have specialized training in Sensory Integration Therapy,
Handwriting without Tears, the SOS Feeding Program, Therapeutic Listening
and the Interactive Metronome training program.

We offer Visual Perceptual Screenings.
Speech therapists
work with your child to improve his or her speech and language, auditory
processing, feeding and oral motor function and social skills. Our speech
therapists have specialized training in use of augmentative communication,
oral motor therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We offer oral
placement therapy that is a muscle-based approach following the Talk
Tools protocol. We also
have therapists who are PROMPT trained.
